Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (formerly Mosport International Raceway)
A world-renowned racing facility lies just north of Bowmanville hosting weekly events (Saturday night stock car racing) to annual weekend events consisting of major North American Championships. Mosport offers a variety of racing on both a local and international level. Their season runs from May to October. Race weekends provide a fun, exciting outing for the family including camping.

Cedar Park Resort
Featuring one of Durham Region’s largest supervised public swimming pools. Unique children’s water-play area and three of Durham Region’s wildest giant waterslides. 18 hole championship miniature golf course. Archibald Orchards & Winery
A 40 acre Family Farm & Estate Winery located in a picturesque setting just 10 minutes north of Hwy 401. Visit our winery boutique and sample award-winning wines. Starting early September, taste crisp apples right from the tree, pies still warm from the oven and cider fresh off the press. Enjoy children’s play area or take a “narrated” wagon ride.

Bowmanville Museum
The Bowmanville Museum is a restored period home reflecting the lifestyle of a wealthy merchant family from the years 1901 to 1930. The Museum also has extensive local archival holdings and one of the best antique doll and toy collections in Canada. The Museum offers guided tours, assistance with genealogical and historical inquiries, special events throughout the year, historical lectures, space for wedding photos and walking tours of Bowmanville.

Tyrone Mill
In operation since 1846, this working, water powered mill houses a store where homemade jams, stone ground wheat flour, maple syrup, honey and cheese as well as lumber, lumber products and custom milling are available. During apple season in September until June, the mill also produces fresh apple cider and cider donuts. An antique woodworking shop is located on the second floor.

Pingle’s Farm Market
In season we grow bedding plants, pick your own strawberries, apples, fall raspberries and pumpkins. Our market features fresh produce, our own jams & preserves, crafts and gifts and our farm fresh bakery. The play area features a straw jump and farm animals. Harvest festival weekends in September and in October – Pingles Pumpkin Fun Weekend activities for the whole family including wagon rides and puppet theatre. In October we have a haunted hayride and boo barn. New for 2000, look for millennium mega maze in September.  Season May 1- Dec. 24

Trail Tours

Hang Gliding
We are a full time, year round Hang Gliding School that has offered instruction, sales and service since 1970. Our flagship flight park is in North Pickering, about 30 minutes NE of Toronto, Canada. In the summer we also offer water gliding in Muskoka during the summer months. We are dedicated to sharing the joys and freedoms flying affords. The silent beauty, the breathtaking view and the indescribable feeling inspires us. This love of flight motivates us to teach.

Local Parks and Conservation Areas

Hiking in local conservation areas and the immediate vicinity, specifically the Ganaraska Forest area, offers a variety of trail types to enjoy the scenic woods of this area.

Darlington Provincial Park
Cross-country ski trails, snowmobiling trails, mountain bicycling and motorcycling trails, hiking. Parking all year with Chalet and canteen during December to March for the ski season only.

Ganaraska Forest
Offering the best in outdoor recreation fun. Close to 11,000 acres of forest are waiting to be explored. The Ganaraska Forest can provide year-round pleasure for you or your family:  Trails for Cross-Country Skiing, Mountain Biking, and Nature Walking; Horseback Riding; and shared use trails for Off-Road,  ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle), and Snowmobile Adventures .  Note:  (Forest Membership or Day Pass Required for all Trails and Forest Access).
